Manhattan, Kansas is located 140 miles west of the Kansas City airport and can be reached by air with US Airways Express (800-428-4322 or locally at 785-537-1306). We strongly recommend flying into Manhattan or renting a car at the Kansas City airport, but if you prefer to use a shuttle service, there is one available: KCI Road Runner Express (800-747-2524). Reservations are usually required for this service.
From Kansas City International Airport: connect to I-29 N or I-435 S and follow the sign "to Topeka". After 2 miles, connect to I-435 S. Stay on I-435 S for about 20 miles and then connect to I-70 W. After about 95 miles, take exit 313 (Hwy 177) to the north or to the right (approximately 8 miles), follow Highway 177 over the bridge into Manhattan. Exit off 177 from the bridge to the right where it says "Tuttle Creek Blvd/Ft. Riley Blvd". At the stoplight, turn right onto Ft. Riley Blvd. (Hwy 18 west) and take it to 17th Street. Turn right and travel approximately 1 mile north to Anderson Ave. The Holiday Inn at the Campus will be on your right and the KSU campus will be across the street.
Rental car service is available at the Manhattan Regional Airport. If you plan to spend most of your time at K-State, a rental car will probably not be required. Pick-up service is available from the Holiday Inn at the Campus (785-539-7531) and from there, it's an easy walk to campus.
If you are driving and staying at the Holiday Inn at the Campus, you may leave your car there and walk across the street to campus. If you wish to park on campus, you must obtain a parking permit by stopping at the visitor's booth (on 17th street just north of Anderson Avenue) which is just outside the K-State Student Union. Using this permit, you may park in any designated lot.
Based on its close proximity to campus, we recommend staying at the the Holiday Inn at the Campus. Reservations can be made by calling them directly at 785-539-7531.
