2019
  • ChemE Car's Wildcat Workout took first at the AIChE Mid-America regional competition and will be competing at nationals in November. 
  • ChemE Car received a commendation from Kansas State University recognizing our team's hard work and achievement
  • ChemE Car volunteered to mentor Riley County High School in hosting their own ChemE Car competition
  • Open House took second place for Outstanding Department, and took second for the Yellow Brick Award
  • Cassidy Booth won the Open House Technical Display, earning a $1000 scholarship
  • Katharine Kellogg and Sarah Plum were awarded the honored of Knights of Saint Patrick
2018
  • Katherine McWilliams was awarded the honor of Saint Patricia
  • Open House won Outstanding Department
  • ChemE Car's Luminati took second in the regional poster presentation
2017
  • ChemE Car's Wait For It XT took second in the regional poster presentation.
2016
  • The Bill Snyder Family Chem-E car took 1st nationally in safety and 19th in performance out of the 41 teams who qualified from across the globe!
  • KSU hosted the 2016 AIChE Student Regional Conference, bringing together almost 200 students from 11 schools to compete in the ChemE Car design competition, Jeopardy, research poster, and research paper competitions. 
  • ChemE Car team took 1st (Bill Snyder Family ChemE Car 2.0) and 3rd (Battery Car) in performance, as well as 1st (Battery Car) and 3rd Bill Snyder Family ChemE Car 2.0) in the safety presentation.
  • Diane Collard took 2nd at AIChE regionals in the poster competition.
2015
  • The ChemE Car team took first place in the Chem-E-Car competition at the AIChE Mid-America Student Regional Conference hosted by the University of Kansas. 
  • The ChemE Car team competed at AIChE nationals in Salt Lake City, UT, and placed 14th of 34 in performance, and 2nd in safety.
  • The team of Michael Whitehead and Thaddeus Tuck, CIS, and Andrew Woolley, CHE, took first place in the AIChE mobile device app competition.
  • Logan Joos and Yichao Zhang were recipients of research and travel grants from the university's Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry.
  • Joshua Benton was co-author with faculty and a graduate student from the department of chemistry of a paper published in Chemistry Communications.
  • Marissa Follette received the first-place James R. Coffman Award for her research in development of a high-performance, 3D carbon nanotube-based electrode system at the KSU Annual Research Poster Symposium.
Fall 2014
  • Andrew Woolley won the A. McLaren White Award for his first-place-winning entry in the AIChE national student design competition.
  • Jiayi Xu took 3rd place in the COE Fall Undergraduate Research Poster Forum.
  • Rachel DeMyers and Joshua Benton are two of the participants in the K-State Biodiesel Initiative where a student-run biodiesel conversion facility is turning cooking oil from campus dining facilities to 100 percent biodiesel fuel.
  • Jaoquin Jacquez was named a Koch Project IMPACT scholar.
  • ChemE Car placed 1st and 4th at the regional competition at University of Iowa
Spring 2014
  • Natalie Davis and Yichao Zhang tied for second-place in the university's 16th annual S. Thomas Parker Mathematics Competition.

  • Jessica Long and Kevin Cooper received first and second place for their Technical Displays at Open House
  • Luke Hartman, Jordan Tholstrup, and Katelyn Kuecker received the best Curriculum Display award at Open House

  • Matthew McGuire was the recipient of the National Othmer Sophomore Achievement Award and received a Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook.
Spring 2002
  • Dr. Walter Walawender was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
  • Jessi Holmes won the Othmer national scholarship this year, our 8th consecutive and 9th over the past 10 years.
  • ChemE Car placed 4th at Regionals.
2001 AIChE National Conference
  • Kaila Young was one of fifteen AIChE members to win the Donald F. & Mildred Topp Othmer National Scholarship Award. She is the 7th consecutive K-Stater to receive this honor.
  • Michele Eidam received a Donald F. Othmer Sophomore Academic Excellence Award.
2000 AIChE National Conference
  • Matt Kyle received one of fifteen $1,000 Othmer Scholarships awarded by AIChE to outstanding seniors across the nation. He was the 6th consecutive K-Stater to receive this honor.
1999 AIChE National Conference
  • Dr. Walawender was selected as Outstanding Chapter Advisor.
  • Chet Davidson received an AIChE National Scholarship Award. He was the 5th consecutive K-Stater to receive this honor.
